Will My Crazy Dog Make My New Puppy Be Crazy As Well?

Question: I want to buy a lab for shed hunting and I have a half lab half husky that can be crazy at moments. Could that effect the new dog in training or make the lab be crazy as well?

Answer: I do think dogs are effected by the culture and environment they are raised in, both positively and negatively. That needs to be kept in mind. I train and own several dogs at a time in the house with our family. It works out really well and one reason I think it does is because the impacts of the dogs around the young pups is very positive. I look to build patient, quiet, well behaved dogs that also have confidence and the ability to use their God given talents in the field. It's a balancing act, but very much doable.
