The Dog Dictates the Pace

The dog dictates the pace, and no matter how badly we want to speed them up, we cannot. Slow down, take steps back when things don’t go well, and take incremental steps forward when they do. We cannot rush our training. One of the most important parts of being a dog trainer is learning how to read your dog. The ability to read the dog’s body language, assess the situation, and where you are at in your training is how you know to take the next steps forward.
