Chew Toys and Our Dogs: Good or Bad? | Ep: #50

Chew Toys and Our Dogs: Good or Bad?

Chew toys and our dogs: good or bad? We recently received a Facebook question asking if it was a good idea to give a shed dog a shed to chew on, and hope that it sees it as a toy when they come across a shed in the wild. This is not a good idea, because chew toys promote chewing! Not only for shed dogs, but for all dogs. Chewing is a habit, and just like the good habits we are trying to form we can just as easily promote bad habits in our dog. Chew toys are a sure fire way to create a dog that chews on everything. The fix? No chew toys.

As always,  thanks for tuning in and keep the questions coming!

Also, a HUGE THANK YOU to the Turnpike Troubadours for allowing us to use a snippet from one of our all-time favorite songs The Bird Hunter.  Make sure to check out their music, they are a favorite of ours and we have countless memories that tie us back to them from concerts to road trips.
