Ch. 1: What Makes a Shed Dog
Understanding the natural qualities we’re looking to shape, and what makes for a good shed hunting dog.
Ch. 2: Tools to be successful
The right tools make all the difference, and can make all the difference when training your dog to find sheds.
Ch. 3 & 4: Early retrieves
Breaking down simple retrieves with the shed dummy to begin the understanding and confidence picking and retrieving an awkward shaped antler.
Ch. 5: Marked Retrieves
Retrieving drills based on visual and seeing the item.
Ch. 6: Denials
Mixing in denials creates a calm and steady dog.
Ch. 7-10: Memory Retrieves
Getting more advanced with our retrieving drills, the memory retrieves help form dogs that can remember retrieves with time in-between and gets us closer to the idea that an object to retrieve isn't always thrown. We dive into Sight Memories, Trailing Memories, and Circle Memories: all very important retrieving drills.
Ch. 11: How a Dog's Nose Works
A breakdown of how a dog uses its nose to process scent, and how that effects them locating a shed antler.
Ch. 12 - 16: The Hunt Command
Teach your dog to use his nose just as much as his eyes when hunting. We break down multiple drills to teach your dog to not only search with his nose, but also to search on your command.
Ch. 17: Blind Retrieves
The dog will never see a real shed antler fall to "mark" it, so we need to teach them that these things are out there to find, even though he/she didn't see it. The blind retrieve helps develop that understanding.
Ch. 18: Intro to Hold Conditioning
A process to clean up delivery and fix many common retrieving and delivery issues.
Ch. 19: Quartering and Casting
How we devlop a search pattern, getting the dog to "quarter and cast" infront of us when searching for shed antlers.
Ch. 20: Introduction to the Real Antler
Introducing the real hard antler to your dog is very important to be done correctly, safely, and positively. Just like dogs can become gun shy from a bad experience with gunfire or loud noises, the same can happen with a negative experience being poked by an antler tine. This is how to introduce the antler.
Ch. 21: Transition ot the Real Shed Hunt
No matter what you do in our shed dog training, you can never exactly replicate the real deal. This is how to transition from shed training to shed hunting and be succesfull.

REAL FEEDBACK
Well it being the start of shed season here in upstate NY I thought I take Moose out and see what he could do. I’ve been using your shed hunting training products for about a year. We were at a county park so he had to ha a leash on him at all times. Look what he found.

Hey Jeremy! I have been meaning to send you these pictures of Allie's first successful hunt this past April! We had so much fun with her and she was very proud of her finds. I'm so glad Keith took her to your training class.

Dog Bone products are second to none and have paid huge dividends in my training progress. My lab is now on his third full shed season and I could not be more proud of him. I get asked ALL the time how I trained my lab to find sheds and I tell everyone I used the Dog Bone system.
